Ruth has been with ServiceMaster Commercial Cleaning for 16 years and is the employee with the longest history at the company.
The mother of two married daughters, Ruth also has two sons-in-law who work with ServiceMaster Commercial Cleaning locally. She previously worked in childcare and on a switchboard and then as a substitute school custodian in Junction City. “I discovered I liked it,” she said of the custodian work, but the substitute job schedule was unpredictable. When first working at SMCC she worked seven days a week; certainly a change from unpredictability.
She is valued for her loyalty, hard-working nature and unstoppable personality. Her crews look up to her for training and advice. She said she likes the fast-paced nature of her work as well. “It’s physical but you won’t get hurt or worn out. It’s fast moving,” she said. “I joke that I will exercise if I’m paid to do it.”
“Ruth’s crew members look up to her,” said Heather Hatcher. “She is steady and an excellent trainer. We appreciate her dedication, loyalty and strength of character so much.”
“It’s greatly gratifying seeing something clean,” said Ruth. At home she is a horsewoman. Her horse currently is semi-retired and is in use at a youth ranch.
